ED attaches a further ₹503 crore from Raheja Developers, lifting total seizures to ₹1,617 crore
The Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached assets worth about ₹503 crore linked to Raheja Developers, its promoter Navin Raheja and family members, as part of an ongoing money-laundering investigation. The latest action lifts the total value attached in the case to roughly ₹1,617 crore, on top of an earlier ₹1,114-crore attachment in April 2026.
The probe stems from multiple police complaints by homebuyers who booked flats in the developer's projects and alleged prolonged delays, non-completion and diversion of funds. The company has denied any wrongdoing, saying it invested more into its projects than it collected from customers. For clarity, this is the Delhi-NCR-based Raheja Developers, not Mumbai's separately owned K Raheja group.
For buyers, the case is a reminder that escrow discipline and project-funding integrity are now actively policed. Enforcement against prominent names tends to sharpen scrutiny from lenders and buyers alike — a dynamic that increasingly favours well-capitalised developers with clean track records.
In MMR, where RERA escrow rules and project grading already shape due diligence, episodes like this reinforce the value of checking a developer's funding transparency before committing. The takeaway is awareness, not alarm: most large MMR projects proceed on schedule.
