John Abraham pays ₹84 crore for a Bandra West bungalow, his second in three years

The ₹84-crore St Martin Road purchase, registered July 14, is effectively a land trade — and a fresh mark for Bandra's scarcest asset class.
Finclara Dispatch · 26 July 2026 · Bandra West

Actor John Abraham has bought a bungalow on St Martin Road in Bandra West for ₹84 crore, in a transaction registered on July 14. The property comprises a 1,017.6 sq m plot carrying an older bungalow of about 193 sq m and a small outhouse; the purchase attracted stamp duty of ₹5.04 crore, per registration records reported this week.

The price — which works out to roughly ₹8.3 lakh per sq metre of plot area — is effectively a land value: the built structures are modest, and the premium sits in the freehold plot itself. It is Abraham's second bungalow purchase in three years, after a ₹70.83-crore acquisition in neighbouring Khar in December 2023.

Standalone bungalow plots in Bandra West are among the scarcest residential assets in Mumbai's suburbs, trading rarely and almost always between long-holding families and deep-pocketed buyers. Each registered trade therefore does outsized work in marking the segment to market.

The deal adds to a steady 2026 run of ₹50-crore-plus registrations across Bandra, Juhu and Worli, suggesting the top of the market remains liquid even as broader sales volumes cooled through the second quarter.
