Aurum PropTech to absorb Housing.com in ₹458-crore all-equity portal consolidation
Aurum PropTech, the listed, Navi Mumbai-headquartered proptech group, said on July 16 it will acquire 100 per cent of Housing.com from REA India in an all-equity transaction valued at about ₹458 crore. Aurum will issue roughly 1.97 crore new shares to the seller — about a fifth of its enlarged capital — leaving Australia's REA Group as a strategic shareholder with a 24.9 per cent stake.
The logic is vertical integration: Housing.com brings one of India's largest property-discovery audiences, while Aurum's existing businesses span rentals, transactions and property management. Management has pitched the combination as the base for an "AI-native" operating system covering the journey from search to purchase to upkeep.
For MMR, the deal is a signal about where portal economics are heading. Consolidation among listing platforms changes how developers and brokers in the country's largest housing market buy leads and visibility — and a Navi Mumbai company absorbing a national portal, with a global classifieds major staying on the register, suggests investors still see value in Indian property-data and distribution platforms.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and approvals.
